Sheff and Subotnik Present Papers at Intellectual Property Scholars Conference

Professors Jeremy Sheff and Eva Subotnik presented papers at the Thirteenth Annual Intellectual Property Scholars Conference last week.  Professor Sheff presented his empirical project, “Dilution at the Trademark Office,” and he also served as commentator on a paper by Professor Haochen Sun, of the University of Hong Kong, entitled “Living Together in One Civilized World: How Luxury Companies and Consumers Can Fulfill Their Ethical Responsibilities to the Poor.”  Professor Sheff’s slide deck is available here.  Professor Subotnik presented her paper, “Intent to Fair Use,” in which she examines the role of user intent in the affirmative defense of fair use to a charge of copyright infringement.
