Lawrence Joseph, Tinnelly Professor of Law, has a poem, “Syria”, in The Best American Poetry 2013, edited by David Lehman and published by Scribner. The poem, attached below, originally appeared in The Nation. It is the second year in a row that a poem of Joseph’s has been included in the prestigious The Best American Poetry series. Professor Joseph will participate in the Gala Launch reading from the book on Thursday, September 19, 2013, 7 p.m., at The New School University’s Tishman Auditorium, 66 West 12th Street, in Manhattan.
