On September 30, 2013, Professor John Q. Barrett spoke at the official naming ceremony of the new Robert H. Jackson United States Courthouse in heart of downtown Buffalo, New York. A text that was the basis of Professor Barrett’s remarks is downloadable here.
Professor Barrett is Justice Jackson’s biographer and writes about him regularly, including to The Jackson List. The Jackson Courthouse is the seat of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York.
Other speakers at the naming ceremony included Chief Judge Robert A. Katzmann of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, Chief Judge William M. Skretny and Judge Richard J. Arcara of the W.D.N.Y., and Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.
