Professor Leonard M. Baynes has been named Dean of the University of Houston Law Center. Since 2002 Baynes has served St. John’s as an exceptional teacher and a nationally recognized communications law scholar, specializing in race and media issues. As the inaugural Director of The Ronald H. Brown Center for Civil Rights and Economic Development at St. John’s, he built the premier academic center for diversity initiatives in legal education and has worked tirelessly to open doors to an inclusive and diverse legal profession.
